Deutschland?
The sometimes quiet, sometimes shrill music from the scattered “land” of the 16th and 17th century moves between heartbreak, tears and love . While most of the discourse is about love – unrequited love, of course – the protagonists are occasionally allowed to retreat behind a pious fear of God. The integration of instrumental pieces on the Renaissance lute and theorbo provide an even richer impression of the musical style of the time.
